Still photography in 2011 began in earnest soon after retiring from teaching in Denver’s Career Education Center– leaving my busy video production studio to explore the quiet open space of eastern Colorado. Quickly I discovered places there to be incredibly inspiring and in retrospect, set my roots as an abstract photographer. Long exposure shots of trains, windmills and turbines, adding lens zooms and other camera play, the “rules of photography” were increasingly set aside. I was no longer chasing reality but creating my own. 

With 4-seconds in a mobile phone I flow with intuitive intent, blending form light and movement to infuse the world with mysterious dreamlike qualities. While each image is rooted in reality, intriguing alter-realities and new contemplative landscapes form.
