Erik Seaver

Erik is a third generation Colorado native and ceramics artist who studied at West Virginia University where he received his B.F.A and a masters degree in education.

Erik had the privilege of being named the artist in residence for the Arvada Center and has been educating Colorado’s future ceramic artists in Jefferson County and Cherry Creek Schools for 27 years.

As a functional potter, Erik crafts his pieces with the intent that they become beloved parts of the everyday routines of their owners. He would like anyone using his pottery to build a relationship with his work because when it is in their hands, the art is so much the right weight, shape, color, and texture that it becomes the equivalent of comfort food, sought after and well loved.

My greatest accomplishment is attained when someone tells me that their mug, pitcher, dinnerware, vase, or the like is their favorite piece in their kitchen or their go-to for display or flowers.
